FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PITTSBURGH, PA. – Davison, a new product development firm that builds new product ideas for corporations and independent inventors, is proud to announce it has reached a remarkable milestone that is unmatched in the industry – 150 products and packaging solutions designed by Davison have sold in 500 different retail outlets and online stores.
Although headquartered near Pittsburgh, PA., products and packaging designed by Davison can be found in stores all across the country. The firm of 250 employees credits its success to founder and CEO George Davison’s unique method of building ideas into products that makes the process affordable for inventors, entrepreneurs and corporations.
His 9-step method of turning ideas into products has been perfected in Inventionland, Davison’s creative design facility that opened in 2006. Although in business since 1989, all facets of the method were brought together under one roof in the highly creative environment of Inventionland four years ago. Since then, Davison’s inventing method has resulted in 97 additional products that have sold in stores or retailers, demonstrating that it is fast becoming the new standard in inventing.
“The numbers speak for themselves,” said Mr. Davison. “We have refined our method to the point that we are now able to transform the ideas of average people, as well as those of corporations, into actual products on the store shelves at a greater rate and consistency than any other company in our industry.”
The inventor and fourth-generation businessman is also becoming known as “the Henry Ford of inventing” because he has brought the process of affordable inventing to the average person, just as Henry Ford made the automobile affordable to the masses.
“I find it extremely rewarding to be able to help the everyday idea person bring their idea for a new product to life, and then hear their reaction after they actually see it in packaging and on the store shelf,” Davison said. “There’s nothing more exciting.”
To celebrate being in 500 stores, the company is kicking off its “Find the Davison ‘D’ and You Could Win Money!” giveaway on May 17. Participants can win gift cards each month worth $500 by finding Davison-designed products and packaging in brick-and-mortar stores and sending the company a photo of themselves with the item in the store. The first drawing will be held June 30 (see below for more details).
Davison products are not hard to spot; most have a distinctive, blue “D” on the bottom of the package. Each month, the company will reward one contest participant with a $500 gift card for the store of their choice that carries Davison products.
“We can’t wait to start giving out these gift cards to celebrate getting ours and our clients’ products into 500 stores,” said Jude Michaels, vice president of marketing. “We want people to know that, no matter where they live, they can find a Davison product on a store shelf near their home; but they don’t need to purchase one to enter. We just want to celebrate our fans and fill a map of the U.S. with all the faces of people out there who have simply found our products in the stores.”
A list of Davison products and the stores that carry them can be found at www.davison.com.
Products designed by Davison have sold in stores across the U.S., including Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart, Home Depot, Sears, K-Mart, JC Penney, Jo-Ann Stores, FAO Schwarz, Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and many more.
