The New Product Innovation Competition at Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School has a new member on its distinguished I2E (Idea to Execution) board. George Davison has accepted an invitation to join the panel, which oversees the annual competition that helps innovator students convert their ideas into products. Mr. Davison has served as a judge for several years and was Keynote Speaker in 2007. Now, he will have a greater role in “turning Innovators into Entrepreneurs.”
“It is an honor to be asked to join their board,” said Mr. Davison. “One of my greatest joys in life is to teach and inspire creative people. The young people at Suffolk studying how to create new products will learn that it is impossible to get better and look good at the same time. I want them to learn that they must be willing to be bad creatively in the beginning, because then you give yourself the chance to be creative and perhaps, over time, become a very good creator. In other words, mistakes are necessary for growth, and I will be their greatest “Well Wisher” so a new generation of “Sunny Creators” learn how to fall forward too.”
In addition to providing guidance to the student teams / individuals in launching their products, he will also help to set and carry out goals that will enable the New Product Innovation Competition to grow. The world certainly needs more innovative entrepreneurs, and the university certainly could not have chosen a more qualified and experienced innovator to join the I2E Board! Congratulations, Mr. Davison!
