The Problem:

Having to stop in the middle of a sewing or quilting project to wind a bobbin is irritating and inconvenient. Unthreading the sewing machine needle or using an additional spool of thread takes a lot of time and effort that could be better spent on the project.

Davison's Better Way:

We developed the Better Bobbin for a client who wanted a quick and convenient way to fill bobbins directly from the sewing machine. The product fills bobbins from various sizes of thread spools with no need to unthread the machine needle or use an additional spool. The unit also has an easy to follow thread guide, an adjustable tension disk, a built-in thread cutter and a telescoping spindle for large spools. In addition, it is compact for easy storage and portability and operates with batteries or an included adapter. We licensed the product to the largest manufacturer and distributor of sewing, quilting, and craft-related notions in North America.

The client has made a profit on this product. A typical project does not get a royalty agreement, sell in stores or generate a profit.
